Dear Friends and Family,
I wanted to take a moment to wish all of you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. You have all made this year (my third) writing Irishman For Hire a great success!
Thank you all for your continued support.
I wanted to buy all of you a present for the Holidays but then I realized, I am a poor, struggling writer with not a heck of a lot of money. But it’s the thought that counts, right?! I truly hope so because your support means so much to me each and every week.
Instead, though, I decided to inundate the busiest time of year with a little “fun reading.” If you get a chance between the parties, presents, family celebrations (of which so many comedy routines are written) and the rest of the holiday celebrations, please feel free to read one or both of the following articles:
1) The first story is one of my favorite articles. I wrote it in 2008 about what the holidays truly mean to me. Unfortunately, due to illnesses and colds, our family was unable to go caroling this year. The memory of this one night, though, will live with me forever. I hope you enjoy it (again, for those who have read it before)
2) The second article (also written in 2008) is just a funny article about what happens when you mix kids, Christmas and a live church service together! If you need a good laugh or a good pick me up over the next few days, this article should help cure the holiday insanity!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to you all! “And to all a good night…”
PS — I would like to wish Josh (over at Riddle Me This, Jishman!~~you should be reading his site) a Happy Birthday!
