Thanksgiving

Dear Lord,

Thank you for my wife.

Thank you for my children.

Thank you for a home filled with love, laughter and the miracles you perform in our lives on a daily basis.

Thank you for providing us with your gifts of food, clothing, shelter and health.

Thank you for the chaotic moments that remind us of your glory and your wisdom, as well as your generous and overflowing love.

Thank you for my family members.

Thank you for my Parents.

Thank you for all of my brothers and sisters.

Thank you for all of my aunts and uncles.

Thank you for my friends.

Thank you for my neighbors.

Thank you for our community and the people who work together each day to build a better life for our children.

May you bless each and every one of them with your love and your grace in the days, months and years ahead!

Thank you for the men and women who serve this great nation.

Thank you for the sacrifice that the men and women in our military make on a daily basis. Protect them, guide them, love them and return them to their loved ones safely.

Thank you for the police, each and every branch.

Thank you for the men and women who work in the Fire Department.

Thank you for our doctors, nurses, EMTs, first responders and all the good Samaritans who are there in times of crisis.

May you continue to bless them with the power to heal, comfort and protect.

Thank you for the lives and love of our friends and family members who have passed on.

Thank you for the love they brought into our lives.

Thank you for the gift of their wisdom while they were with us.

Thank you for the memories that fill our hearts with joy, sadness, laughter, love, yearning and those moments of true gratitude for having known and been part of each of their lives.

May you bring them all home to your heavenly kingdom and give each one of them a kiss for me.

Lord, I also ask one special favor; please place your healing hands upon the hearts of those who have lost a loved one in the past year. Hold them tightly in your arms and remind them that you are with them at all times. I ask this especially for the family members who have lost a son or a daughter, a husband or a wife, a mom or a dad, a cousin, an uncle, an aunt or a friend in military service to this great nation. Let our military family members know that we stand with them in steadfast love and friendship until the end of time. May your love wash over them and heal their pain.

Thank you for our church.

Thank you for our Pastors.

Thank you for our home group; our extended family!

Thank you for the men and women who carry out missions work on your behalf throughout the world.

Thank you for all of those who minister to the sick, the poor, the homeless, and the downtrodden.

Thank you for the ability to live in a free society where our religious freedoms are celebrated.

Thank you for the gift of prayer.

May your word and your love continue to edify, nurture, inspire and fill our hearts with your everlasting spirit and grace!

And, thank you Lord, for a National Day of Thanksgiving to come to you in praise, love and to glorify your name for the gifts you bestow upon us each and every day!

May we never forget this National Day of Thanksgiving so that as a nation we may always be able to thank you for these gifts!

Thank you, Lord.

Amen.

PS  —  I would like to wish everyone who visits IRISHMAN FOR HIRE a safe, happy and healthy Thanksgiving! God bless you all! And thank you all for continuing to support IFH each and every week!
